Third Annual Bake Sale-Nov. 10

Bake Sale Results

All our wonderful baking and vigorous shopping made our bake sale a huge success!  We made $1,127.  We exceeded last year's amount by $87.  The breakdown from the day was:  $201 from the Raffle, $72 from Musical Chairs and $854 from the Bake Sale.

I want to give a special thanks to Lillian Gadja for donating the glass chimes and silver necklace set, Kay Beal for donating some of the basket items and the champagne, and Kaye Powers for donating the centerpiece and most of the items in two of the gift baskets.  Kay and Kaye were also instrumental in putting together the raffle and musical chair events and for helping me in the initial brainstorming for the entire day.

To our volunteers at the Bake Sale, a big thank you!  You helped make the day run smoothly.

These people were:   Sharon Mueller; Jan Colinsky, Bobbi Salisbury, Doris Ort, Julia Gibson, Tina Paine, Pat Miller, Mary Ann Maruszak, Patty Mangum, Earlene Jacques, LaVerne Rinken, Barb Pfaff, Marion LaPuma,

Kay Beal, Candy Massaglia, Gwen Sticklen and Kaye Powers.

To everyone, thank you so much for the gift certificate to Main Street Grill.  It was an unexpected surprise.  Dan and I will both enjoy it - I wish we could share it with everyone because you all contributed to the success

of this event.

This event shows what people working together can accomplish.  Well done!

Musical Chairs winners –

Melonie Woods, Carol Tisdale, Sharon Mueller

P.S.  We’re missing some glass cake display centerpieces from the bake sale; they were not intended as part of the sales item, but used for display only.  Please return to Kaye Powers if you took one inadvertently at the sale.

SILENT AND LIVE AUCTION WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!!!

If you missed it, you missed a lot of fun! The final tally is a profit of $4,350. Thanks and congratulations to the team who worked to make it run so smoothly.

Prizes will be awarded at the May meeting for team and individuals meeting fund- raising goals. You will have to attend to find out who they are!

We would like to thank Larry Steele for another job well done at the live auction. His and Carol’s son also deserves a thank you for his moving speech about Iraq and how much troops appreciate efforts such as our Caring Hands and greeting cards.

Next up, the Barnes and Noble book fair on Dec 11-13 – Sandy Welford, Auction Chair
